Description

Indications

  • Dorsal flexor weakness, with or without moderate spasticity. For slight impairment of the plantar flexion muscles, and for slight impairment of knee extension (e.g. constant fatigue of the knee extensors during long periods of standing or walking)
  • For slight impairment of the plantar flexion muscles, and for slight impairment of knee extension (e.g. constant fatigue of the knee extensors during long periods of standing or walking)
  • The indication frequently occurs after a stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular atrophy or peroneal paralysis
  • People with permanent dorsiflexor weakness depend on a medical aid that lifts their foot while walking
  • That is precisely what the WalkOn Reaction does. It helps lift the foot during the swing phase, so that the gait becomes safer while the risk of stumbling and falling is reduced. The tip of the foot no longer gets caught as easily on small obstacles or uneven ground
  • Thanks to its special design, the WalkOn Reaction supports the knee joint as well. When the foot lowering musculature is impaired in addition, you also benefit from the high energy return of the orthosis, which is activated during the rollover motion of the foot. You walk more naturally again

Effects

  • Promotes a largely symmetrical and fluid physiological gait with support for knee extension and flexion, depending on what is needed
  • Its energy return supports toe-off and heel strike, thus reducing compensatory movements such as hip hikeSupports dorsiflexion (ground clearance)
  • Prevents uncontrolled foot contact and foot slap at heel strike and supports knee extension during toe-off
  • When standing, the alignment of the orthosis influences the statics in the frontal and sagittal plane

Benefits

  • Made of carbon fibre prepreg
  • Energy is stored and returned during the gait cycle
  • Slim design
  • Inconspicuous to wear
  • Trimable sole
  • Straightforward adaptation
  • Low weight
  • High acceptance
  • Shin pads with integrated closures
  • Skin-friendly padding, washable and exchangeable
  • Anterior support
  • Good control at heel strike and toe-off
  • Lateral pronation strap
  • In conjunction with the lateral pronation strap, it is possible to reduce varus deviation of the foot and ankle and supination of the forefoot
  • This should always be supported by a corrective insole (included in the scope of delivery)
