A clinical assessment for SDO Lycra sleep suit will be required by one of our specialist clinicians to ensure suitability and assess the correct Lycra device needed. Our specialist, fully certified clinicians are available at our new clinic location based in Minworth, Birmingham or available to travel to you to carry out a full assessment. A £50 assessment cost is required to access this service (There may be additional costs for travel expenses). The £50 assessment fee is refundable on purchase.
You can book a consultation with highly qualified clinicians for an assessment for SDO Body lycra, measuring and ordering of the product. Our clinicians will be able to guide you to the product that is required and you can choose from a range of styles and designs.
This garment is a custom made to measure garment to assist with the management of the potential development of deformity of body and hip alignment at rest as a result of abnormal tone.
In parallel to the bio-mechanical management there is also some sensory and proprioceptive feedback through the dynamic compression provided by the garment.
The wearing of this garment may also contribute to improved sleep pattern with a reduction in sleep disturbance, enhancing the sleep quality and quantity of the user.
The garment has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the user at rest and can be used in conjunction with a prescribed sleep system.
Through clinical experience positive responses have been demonstrated from the wearing of a Lycra garment in patients with the following diagnoses on a regular basis:
- Cerebral palsy
- Acquired Spinal Injury
- Cerebellar Ataxia
- Spina Bifida
- Cerebral Vascular Accident /Stroke
- Multiple Sclerosis
The SDO® can also be used for the management of conditions with joint instability and sensory deficit:
